We Are The Witch

Event Description
While BabeLight’s last production, “Babes In Wonderland” brought you down the rabbit hole, “We Are The Witch” will offer a fractured feminist retelling of classic fairytales. A unique mix of theatre and burlesque that will whisk you away to a magical place, this once upon a time is far from the versions we were read as children. Instead, spinning a new golden thread where women’s wants, wills and desires are at the forefront of the story. Familiar characters, both princess and witch, will change for their own sake and find themselves far from the beaten path. Join us as classic characters redefine their own version of happily-ever-after.

BabeLight is ecstatic to announce our partnership with Tubman in an effort to bring awareness and much needed support to the victims they serve. Tubman helps women, children and families struggling with relationship violence, substance abuse and mental health. Throughout the Twin Cities, Tubman provides safe shelter, legal services, counseling, elder care resources, youth programming and community education while guiding and sustaining individuals and families on the journey from chaos and fear to healing and restoration. Tubman is the state’s largest provider of domestic violence services, with over 20% of all Minnesota shelter beds for women and children experiencing family violence.
We are hosting a BRA DRIVE and we want to get all of you involved! We are requesting that ALL attendees bring a NEW BRA to donate to Harriet's Closet.
Harriet’s Closet is the Tubman Center’s volunteer-run boutique where women can shop for up to three outfits per month at no cost. It is not required to bring a bra but we encourage you to do so. In our first round of “We Are The Witch” we were able to collect over 250 pairs of underwear for the Sexual Violence Center. This time we have a goal of 300 total bras, 100 each night, and we know our amazing audience can help us get there! We will be hosting a raffle and for every bra brought in you get a raffle ticket!
Check out their website for more info about them: http://www.tubman.org
